How do I set up ereserves for a course I am teaching?

Answer

Set up ereserves for a course by submitting a Reserves Request form with a reading list or syllabus six weeks prior to the course start date.

Welch Reserve Staff will create course ereserves pages, obtain copyright permissions if necessary, gather materials, and post to the ereserves system for faculty, course coordinators, and teaching assistants.

Organize a Reserved Reading List

The Reserves team can organize readings by week or module using tags that appear at the top of an ereserves course site. Students select a tag to see the readings associated with that tag.

Tags may be used to:

  • Provide session information (“Session 1,” “Session 2,” “Session 3,”) so that students can see all of the readings for a specific class session.
  • Indicate topic areas, such as “Maternal Health” or “Malaria”.
  • Multiple tags can be applied to a reading and they will all apply. (Ex: “Session 2” and “Malaria”).
