The PRISMA flow diagram provides a visual image of the flow of information through the production of a systematic review.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use the PRISMA “Elaboration and Explanation” document with the PRISMA flow diagram and checklist.

What is PRISMA?

PRISMA is a reporting guideline that has been endorsed by over 175 journal editors, the Council of Science Editors, the National Evidence-based healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), and the Cochrane Collaboration among others.
