About Proteome BioKnowledge Library

Use Proteome BioKnowledge Library for detailed literature-based curation, comprehensive references, disease information, BioKnowledge transfer and integrated resources. The Proteome suite of the BioKnowledge Library includes the following six protein databases: YPD (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), PombePD (Schizosaccharomyces pombe), WormPD (Caenorhabditis elegans), MycoPathPD (Pathogenic fungi), HumanPSD and GPCR-PD (Human, Mouse, Rat).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the Proteome database include?
The entire Proteome database includes the following volumes: HumanPSD, GPCR-PD, YPD, PombePD, WormPD and MycoPathPD. Human PSD and GPCR-PD contain information on human, mouse, and rat proteins.

  • What is Disease Spotlight?
Disease Spotlight is a program that highlights a different disease each month, providing public access to fundamental biological information about disease-relevant proteins. Each month BIOBASE features a different disease and makes the Disease View Report and select Protein Reports related to the disease publicly available. Disease View Reports for more than 1,300 diseases are available as part of a subscription to the Proteome database.

  • Is the database updated on a regular basis?
Yes, each volume is updated with new material weekly.

  • Is there information on functional genomics datasets?
YPD, PombePD, WormPD and MycoPathPD collectively contain information on functional genomics experiments. Transcript profiles from these experiments are now more easily searchable through enhanced functionality. Is there any information on mouse knockouts? Within HumanPSD, which contains human, mouse, and rat proteins, we provide knockout data for a subset of mouse proteins.
