About Off-Campus (Remote Access)

Access to Welch licensed electronic resources while off-campus is available using either JHSecure or MyWelch.

JHSecure Virtual Private Network (VPN): JHSecure is a flexible IPSec based remote access VPN solution, which allows members of the Hopkins communities to access computer resources located at Hopkins from remote locations. To use JHSecure you will need to download and install the program in advance. Installation instructions are available at http://it.jhu.edu/restricted/infosec/jhsecure/.

MyWelch (version 4.0) EzProxy: MyWelch is a user-customizable, online portal for members of the Hopkins communities. Using EzProxy, server-based software that utilizes Internet Protocol (IP) based authentication, MyWelch provides remote access, using a single sign-on and login. No installation is required, but users must have a JHED ID and pasword. To access MyWelch select it from the Quick Links drop down menu above.

• MyWelch does not require any installation but users must have a JHED ID and password. To access MyWelch go to
  https://mywelch.welch.jhmi.edu/login/index.cfm or select it from the Quick Links drop down menu above. To access Welch Medical
  eResources, select "Welch eResources" from the naviagation bar. PubMed is available from the "Welch eResources" tab or by selecting
  "Search PubMed" from the navigation bar.

Fequently Asked Questions

• Will MyWelch allow me remote access to the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and the Provider Order Entry (POE) systems?


This may be an IP address issue. Please send an email message to eteam@hydra.welch.jhu.edu with the
name of the journal you are trying to access so we can work with the publisher to correct the issue.

• If I experience technical difficulties, whom should I contact?
