About the Welch Library Liaison Program
Institutions and Health System by improving information access and knowledge transfer in a distributed information environment. The Liaison Program strives to achieve this through collaboration, needs assessment, and the development of information products and services. We support our community through a unique combination of goals:
- To develop and promote close working relationships between liaisons and their assigned academic/clinical units.
- To help integrate the Welch Medical Library and its information resources into the life of the JHMI campus.
- To conduct needs assessments through initiated meetings, and act upon those identified needs in appropriate forums within the library.
What types of services can we provide?
- Meet with departmental faculty, students, and staff on a regular basis
- Disseminate information on new services and resources
- Collect recommendations for new services and resources
- Demonstrate current and new library services and resources
- Provide customized and/or individualized instructional sessions for liaison departments including formal curriculum support
- Examples of new services include Welch Information Suites, a collaborative effort to bring our librarians closer to their departments. These can be physical or virtual spaces and include the Welch Information Suite for the Hopkins Population Center, the Welch Information Suite for the Basic Sciences, and the Oncology Lecture Series: "Welch Works for You".
