PubMed: Accessing Full-text using PubMed Linkout

Welch offers full-text via the PubMed Linkout system. This means that the National Library of Medicine provides access to a journal that Welch also subscribes to, via PubMed.

If you link to PubMed via WelchWeb, the only icons you should see are those labeled as "Welch Print Collection" and "Welch Fulltext". More information regarding access to full-text from PubMed is available at http://www.welch.jhu.edu/services/articletips.html.

Welch print journal holdings are available via the Serhold system. The Serhold link will take you directly to journal volumes and issues available through the Johns Hopkins University Library Catalog.

Those users not using the PubMed link that is on WelchWeb (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?holding=jhumlib&otool=jhumlib) will not benefit from Welch's Linkout feature.

Please keep in mind that full-text of the Welch licensed resources are IP-restricted for the affiliated user community of the Welch Medical Library. For more information please visit http://www.welch.jhu.edu/about/jhuonly.html.

If you want to restrict your search to Hopkins online or print journal citations, then follow these steps:

  1. Complete your search.
  2. Enter the following loprovjhumlib[sb] in the search box and run this search.
  3. Click on the History tab and combine the line from step 2 with the final set of your completed search from step 1. The results of this final combination should contain all print and online journal citations that are available from Welch.

Remember, it is the responsibility of Welch users to learn the terms and conditions of using electronic resources that Welch licenses. Please read the following disclaimer:
