Hopkins authors will get a discount or the fee will be waived to publish an article in the following Open Access journals:
- Biomed
Central Journals (regularly $505 to $2,425 per article)
As a researcher or student at Johns Hopkins University you will receive a 15% discount on the article processing charges when you publish in journals published by BioMed Central.
- Nucleic
Acid Research (Institutional membership for 2007:
$3515.00)
Author charges for $950 per article (a 50% discount), which is half that of non-member institutions. Available April 22, 2006.
- PLoS
Journals (regularly $1,500)
30% discount. $450 per paper as a corresponding author.
The discount on publication charges will be determined by the primary affiliation of the corresponding author. A corresponding author with equal affiliations to multiple institutions is entitled to the benefits of the higher tier membership. Corresponding authors are asked to identify their primary institutional affiliation upon submitting a manuscript, and are immediately apprised of the discount to which their institution's membership entitles them.

25% discount. $750 per paper plus $70 per printed page is requested from all authors who have funds available for that purpose. Payment of $150 per article is also requested for Supporting Information. Payment by authors of the following additional costs is expected: $450 for each color figure or table; $150 for each replacement or deletion of a color figure or table; additional $200 for each color Supporting Information item that must be scanned.
