Off Campus (Remote) Access

In order to use the Welch licensed electronic resources while off-campus you will need to be able to identify yourself as a current member of the Hopkins community by logging in with your JHED credentials in one of two ways listed below. You only need to log in once as long as your browser remains open.

1. The libraries proxy services.

When you click on links to licensed electronic resources from Welch web pages you will be passed to the familiar blue screen where you can be authenticated using your JHED credentials.

The Find It (SFX) service for looking up journal websites.

Note: If you get a "Permission Denied" page after you have authenticated with your JHED ID and password, you will need to go into your profile in the university portal and check your campus affiliation. To do this, log into the portal and go to the My Profile icon in the upper left hand side. The option to select a primary campus is at the bottom of your profile view (those with online courses must still select a campus). Verify that you have a campus affiliation selected and click Save myProfile. Go into your browser and delete all the cookies and clear the cache. Restart your browser. It may take a few hours for the update to be propagated in JHED.

2. The JHConnect service provided by Hopkins.
