This course for clinical fellows involves hands-on instruction in how to plan and prepare a research manuscript for a peer-reviewed biomedical journal. Students learn the basic content of the research paper and write a practice paper based on their own research. In-class discussion and feedback from the instructor are used as the basis for producing a second draft. Particular attention is paid to logical organization, clarity of presentation, and awareness of the expectations of readers, reviewers, and journal editors. Individual tutorials are also offered to improve writing style.
Prerequisite: Restricted to GTPCI fellows.
